Artist Statement


Xiaoze Zhang was born in China majored in painting study . Her artworks focus on painting, installation, and animation, showing her interest in multi-disciplinary areas, especially in the fine arts disciplines of collage, montage, spatialisation, psychoanalysis, and sociology. She specialise in applying collage to impart a non-linear narrative quality to paintings. She is also deeply invested in experimenting with the convergence of different art forms, exploring how they can enhance each other within works. 



Research Interest

“My research interest lies in exploring the extension of painting into spatialisation, building upon the foundation of easel painting, with the aim of transcending the traditional boundaries of this medium. Additionally, I am keen to investigate the interactivity between spatial painting artworks and the audience, with the goal of providing an immersive and playful viewing experience.”
